Estimating Sales Manager (Construction)

Responsibilities:

As the Sales Manager, the Employee is required to perform the following duties and undertake the following responsibilities in a professional manner.

  • Generate leads for new business in the residential and multifamily construction field.
  • Estimate residential, multifamily and at times commercial construction jobs.
  • Responsible for overall sales and performance of the sales team. Sets strategies, sales goals and leads the team on project pursuits.
  • Direct reports include current estimators and any new hire estimators.
  • Reviews all estimates and construction documents for efficiency and understands scope of work to bid.
  • Identify indirect sales opportunities, potential markets, and partners to generate sales.
  • Create cost estimates for all types of construction projects including labor, material and subcontractors. Obtain subcontractor and vendor quotes and other relevant documentation, vet/review, and appropriately file on company network.
  • Utilize company sales and estimating templates for document creation.
  • Compose detailed scope of work for budgets/estimates.
  • Deliver budgets, estimates, schedules on time.
  • Gain input from key players to understand requirements and potential risks (Subcontractors, Vendors, internal production team, etc.)
  • Create and deliver final Client-facing proposal packages.
  • Present and sell company construction services to current and potential clients
  • Create potential client list and seek new work by researching potential clients and industries.
  • Proactive mindset with the ability to identify areas for improvement and implement effective strategies.
  • Conduct or audit sales meetings with buyers where appropriate, provide constructive feedback for improvement, and help new estimators close sales.
  • Strong leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and inspire the sales team.
  • Have a broad understanding of the customer contracts that we use in order to educate Sales Agents and buyers about the details of those documents.
  • Develop effective onboarding programs to ensure new hires are equipped with the knowledge and tools required to excel in their roles.
  • Provide ongoing coaching and mentorship to sales representatives to improve performance and achieve sales goals.

Qualifications:

  • Proven track record in sales, within the construction industry.
  • Able to read construction plans.
  • Proficient in: Microsoft Word, Office 365. Experience using Buildertrend a plus!
  • Able to estimate several projects simultaneously.
  • Driven and efficient -- ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong task management and task prioritization skills.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and ask questions when needed.
  • Proven management experience and ability to lead.
  • Experience: Minium of 5 years experience in the residential construction industry, required.
  • Excellent written skills.
  • Strong sense of personal Accountability/Integrity.

Compensation: This position includes a generous base salary plus commission. Base salary is DOE.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
